Toddler-PreS-Preschoolers' favorite mouse participates in her first field day at school. Maisy and her friends split into the red and the blue teams. They warm up and compete in a variety of outdoor races. After a snack, they finish with a game of tug-of-war, and Maisy's team wins. The friends express concerns that children will empathize with, like wanting to win and needing a break. Cousins's cartoon illustrations are as recognizable as ever, with thick, black outlines and bright, primary colors depicting Maisy and her friends in gym shorts, sneakers, and sweatbands.
