Look Out! a Storm!

K-Gr 2-Milgrim has added to his award-winning series with an eventful and beautifully illustrated story that begins with an innocent greeting and ends with the calm after the storm. Otto (a robot) just wants to say hello to Olly (a rhino), but Olly is in a bad mood and has no time for pleasantries. Olly chases Otto through the pages and right into Flip and Flop (monkeys), who now have caught Olly's bad mood. Little do they know that a storm is brewing and they have to work together to escape the flashing lightning, dark skies, and heavy rain. Milgrim illustrates the familiar four on top of the hill gaping as the storm moves away. Readers will be delighted to see the bad moods dissipate along with the clouds. VERDICT The simple sentences, repetitive phrases, and supportive illustrations make this an excellent choice for beginning readers and a great addition to any library.-Katie Callahan, Montgomery County Public Schools, MD
