Interest in women's cycling is starting to expand with an increasing amount of events, sponsorship, and media coverage; especially in the form of network television. Despite this growing exposure, female cyclists are not afforded the same opportunities to make careers out of bike racing as their male counterparts. Clemitson (P Is for Peloton: The A-Z of Cycling), a longtime advocate for the sport of women's cycling and a regular contributor for the Guardian, both edits and contributes to this work. Chapters are arranged into sections with fascinating stories that detail diverse aspects of the sport such as notable pioneers, famous riders, bike mechanics, media coverage, doping, advocacy, race administration, team ownership, riding with mental health issues, and riding for leisure. Readers will appreciate the extreme amount of work that has been done to help promote, develop, and grow women's cycling both in the United States and internationally. VERDICT Clemitson has assembled a work that inspires and educates readers about the diverse world of women's cycling. For all sports collections.--John N. Jax, Univ. of Wisconsin Lib., La Crosse
