Jackson (Romancing the Fashionista) kicks off her Unconventional Brides contemporary series with a spirited combination of class and sass. Manhattan PR maven Eva Ward is calm, cool, and collected in all circumstances—except when her wimpy fiancé, Kevin, breaks up with her on national television after they win a dream wedding from the WBC network’s morning show. When Eva’s meltdown proves to be social media gold, WBC spins her embarrassment into a Bachelorette-type reality show, aiming to find the spurned bride-to-be her perfect match so the wedding can go on as scheduled. But Eva may have already met the man of her dreams: WBC producer Aidan Walker. Jackson’s story is believable precisely because it easily could be ripped from today’s headlines, and Eva, in all her flawed, perfectionist glory, could be any woman reading this story. Rather than taking the easy route and making Aidan a cardboard-cutout reality-show star, Jackson layers his personality with an endearing mix of flaws, which only add to the story’s appeal. Readers will say, “I do!” to this charming contemporary. Agent: Rachel Brooks, L. Perkins Agency.

A contestant on a dating show falls for the producer, but does either know what they are getting into? This is the first in Jackson's (Holiday Temptation, 2016, etc.) three-book contemporary romance series about unconventional brides. Eva Ward wins a lavish wedding in a contest, but when her fiance jilts her on-air, cameraman Aidan Walker shows no sympathy in recording her every outraged reaction. To save face and maintain her carefully crafted life plan of being married before 30, with a first child before 33, Eva agrees to star in a Bachelor-style reality contest, hoping to find Mr. Right and get that wedding of her dreams. Aidan is Eva's new producer, and although she wants to stay mad at his manipulations, she's undeniably attracted to him. Aidan is normally a "leap first and look later" type of guy, but he wants to make the most of his chance at the helm of the show. Another reason for caution, despite his raging attraction? He cares about Eva, and he has some serious conflicts of interest. The backdrop of a reality TV show enhances interest, and the trust issues are well-played. Jackson brings nothing new to the tropes of "no-strings sex" and "won't be vulnerable again." The sex is mostly off the page, but it doesn't convey sizzling chemistry between Aidan and Eva, and Aidan's confession and the couple's reconciliation come too late in the game. A fun concept with an unconvincing romance, this might have made a better women's fiction outing.

When her flighty fiancé jilts her on live television, Eva Ward has a backstage meltdown--and a cameraman captures every minute of it. The footage goes viral, and the producers of the morning show who were hosting her TV wedding sense an opportunity: a series of find-a-groom segments featuring Eva dating some of the city's most eligible bachelors. Soon enough, Eva falls for someone--but it's not any of the high-profile men she's been dating--it's the cameraman who started it all. VERDICT Eva's dating misadventures will have readers rooting for her, and the combo of forbidden love and her low-down ex getting his comeuppance are irresistible.

Former fashion designer Jackson presents her first Unconventional Bride romance. Eva and her fiance won a competition to be married on a national morning show, and now that they're on the set, she is humiliated when her fiance tells her that he wants to break up. Eva has a fit, not realizing that she is being filmed. First she kisses the cameraman, then knees him. Aidan, the son of a major corporate network executive, is fascinated by this passionate woman, who literally knocks him off his feet. He designs a new show on which she is to choose a new groom in two months. During that time, they become involved, supposedly just for casual sex. But both soon realize that the wedding deadline and another groom are not the best path forward for Eva. Jackson has written a funny reality-show romance with a smart, strong woman and an appealing hero. Fans of Carly Phillips and Susan Mallery may well enjoy this.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2016, American Library Association.)
