With an overblown sense of itself, Fuller’s too-wordy first book in the Mythmakers Trilogy delivers a trite story with very little depth. Angie is a 29-year-old Greek-American from Astoria, Queens. Thanks to a gift from her grandmother, Angie spends a magical vacation in Athens, recovering both from heartbreak and an unfortunate run-in with a beer truck on what was to be her wedding day. Milos is a Greek god and has been in love with Angie since her teens. Now, for the first time, he gets to meet her in person. Unfortunately, the fickle Fates seem to have other plans. Though it begins as an interesting take on the Greek mythos, the narrative falls short as a love story and veers into highly uncertain territory. One-dimensional characters are largely unrelatable and often wholly unlikable, save for a few lukewarm moments. Agent: Scott Mendel, Mendel Media Group
