The Treasure

In this Victorian Cinderella story, Emily Fox, London's most skillful thief, stumbles upon an ancient treasure map. In order to find the hidden cache she must masquerade as a debutante, assuming the identity of Emily de Winter, and slip into the Marquess of Westfield's social circle. Emily is soon captivated by the brooding and virile Valin North. Equally intrigued and puzzled by the mysterious Miss de Winter, he soon realizes that she is no heiress and assumes she must therefore be a lady adventuress out to snare a rich husband. Emily is flabbergasted at being discovered, and even more so when Valin blackmails her into an engagement. By day, Emily plays the adoring fianc e, but by night she continues her treasure hunt. Soon, however, the quest for gold becomes less important than the quest for Valin's love. The entertaining banter of Robinson's (The Rescue) lively characters will easily charm her adoring fans in this finely crafted romance.
