Brighter Than the Sun

Joe Kelly falls quickly for Zoe, a family friend who is hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend. After Zoe is kidnapped, Joe and his family of mercenaries for hire must use their skills to save her. Narrator Tad Branson takes on the numerous members of the Kelly clan and their often overlapping dialogue by using varied mannerisms and cadences. He excels at one-on-one conversations, especially between Joe and Zoe, showing Zoe's nervousness through hesitation and softness and switching to Joe's badass Southern twang to dramatize his masculinity. Branson perfectly sets the scene of their first date at the lake, where listeners can feel the breeze and see the sunset along with the characters.
