Grades 7-12 These accounts are not stories ripped from the headlines; they're the stories that made the headlines. Culled from The New York Times, these entries from the In the Headlines series (8 new titles) are collections of news articles, analyses, opinion pieces, and letters to the editor about timely, provocative subjects. Each book uses multiple chapters to highlight a range of perspectives on the overall theme. While some of the contributions pinpoint practices in New York, many investigate the topic in other cities and regions, and still more report through a national lens. Original photographs accompany these examples. Voter Suppression examines groups targeted by voter suppression, the impact of voter fraud and ID laws, the 2018 Georgia governor's race, and the history of voting. The volumes conclude with media literacy terms and guided media literacy questions about specific contributions.
