Gr 3-6-Colorful cartoon illustrations represent a diverse cast of individuals and circumstances. Each title offers a simple explanation of the topic and addresses the spectrum of emotions children may expect to experience in that situation, using fictionalized characters as examples. Possible courses of action are listed, followed by the character's reaction and a resolution. Points of view play a large role, as the same situation is interpreted by various individuals. The fictional examples help normalize the range of possible feelings while also validating a child's concerns. Enlisting the help of trusted adults is greatly emphasized. VERDICT A worthy resource for its unique way of addressing emotions through challenging situations. A strong buy for any library supporting a social-emotional learning curriculum.
