Gr 2-4-Young browsers will delight in this broadly appealing take on championship games. The pinnacle of achievement in each sport is described in generic terms, wrapping up with a low page count to keep readers engaged. This vagueness is not necessarily a drawback-the action-packed, full-bleed photos feature past and current athletes in lively, engaging scenes. However, players' names are not included in the image captions. Every book in the series quickly describes the championships' histories, bracket systems, and any seeding, along with how the playoffs function. Selectors will be pleased at the relatively equal representation of women athletes in The NBA Finals and The World Cup. VERDICT Light reads with charm. A strong supplemental purchase.
