Gr 8 Up-While the descriptions of each career are detailed-including information on what it entails, the work environment, the job market, a day in the life of a professional, and questions about the job-the books might be limiting to students wanting a more general introduction to the field. For instance, they might want to know what it's like to be a general physician as opposed to a more specialized doctor. The books are illustrated with captioned photographs of people engaged in their work. Each one has a healthy amount of back matter with information on getting your foot in the door, professional organizations, and market facts (skills needed, annual wages, related jobs, etc.).
