Green is the business world's new gold, and the authors, who founded the ROI Institute, capitalize on that by adapting their Return on Investment (ROI) methodology to green initiatives. The book is organized into three parts: an explanation of the omnipresence of green projects in business; how ROI can be used to measure the cost/benefit ratios of such projects; and disseminating ROI results to all corporate players. The most instructive part is the second, in which methods for measuring management and participant reactions and involvement, the implementation and impact of such projects, and converting data into money and savings terms are fully outlined, with numerous flowcharts and tables provided. The text is a little dry and may appeal most to a certain old-school segment of business readers, but it is well organized, with each chapter divided into easily accessible segments. VERDICT The subject matter is timely, but smaller libraries may want to skip this in favor of a more basic book about ROI, such as the authors' 2007 Show Me the Money: How To Determine ROI in People, Projects, and Programs.--Sarah Statz Cords, The Reader's Advisor Online
