Jonathan Yen is to be commended for the clarity and intelligence of his narration of this audiobook. The author seeks to ensure that listeners can distinguish between science and pseudoscience when thinking about what to eat. Yen handles the scientific nomenclature admirably and, most importantly, has the right tone. The work, chockablock with information, has detailed researched opinions on the use and misuse of nutritional information. It is a much needed corrective to the plethora of preposterous notions about what we eat put forth daily on the Internet and elsewhere. Here is a thoughtful, often funny, audiobook that attacks pseudoscientific claims with the sharp edge of chemistry and molecular biology. Nutrition posers, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Tom Brady, are excoriated by the McGill University-based Schwarcz. A.D.M. AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine
