Gr 2-5-The latest installment in the series doesn't disappoint, and it stands on its own. Once again, fifth-graders Drake Doyle and Nell Fossey solve a variety of mysteries using the scientific method and some sound research. Several cases are solved throughout the book, making it ideal for independent reading or as a class read-aloud. The humor is tongue-in-cheek, but silly enough for elementary students to grasp. Black-and-white cartoon illustrations punctuate the text nicely, and "Activities and Experiments for Super-Scientists" add an entertaining and educational touch.-Nicole Waskie-Laura, Chenango Forks Elementary, Binghamton, NY
