This recording offers two episodes set in Bikini Bottom. In the first, SpongeBob makes the acquaintance of a cheerful neighborhood squirrel, Sandy Cheeks, and accepts an invitation to tea. What happens to a moist, spongy fellow when he spends an extended period of time at Sandy's drier than dry dwelling? Doug Lawrence provides just the right splash of sound. The narration is so like the TV show, yet listeners have the luxury of being able to expand the visualization with their own imaginative powers. So, too, with the second episode, in which the grumpy and conniving Squidward attempts to break up the friendship between SpongeBob and Patrick. A.R. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine

He's everywhere! From television to book to audio performance, SpongeBob invades our senses. Loyal fans can be assured that SpongeBob's escapades play well in audio. Once the familiar voice of Doug Lawrence is heard and the scene is set, the listener can garner each episode through the power of imagination. When his special day finally arrives, what havoc does SpongeBob wreak under the sea? How does Patrick's and SpongeBob's friendship survive a harrowing Valentine's Day and carnival outing? Nothing is out of the range of plausibility for SpongeBob! A.R. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine
