Preschool-Grade 2 The four books in the Many Ways series (4 titles) present simple, positive introductions to topics that are integral to children's lives: families, feelings, homes, and parents. Each colorful page features a short sentence or two, illustrated with an attractive photo. Across the board, the books create a positive, inclusive tone. From the racial diversity apparent in the photos to the family configurations described in the text, readers will find many other differences apparent, without a sense that one is better than another. In Families, Miller points out that some are noisy and others are quiet; some have a single parent, while others have two dads or two moms, and some have one of each. Some kids live with their grandparents. An upbeat, appealing series, well suited to reading aloud in the classroom.
