The vast majority of MySpace users won't find this lengthy history particularly engaging. However, Paul Michael Garcia's inflection, emphasis, and delivery help improve the narrative, moving it in a way the text itself doesn't. It's not that Angwin's prose is difficult. She provides an impressive history filled with the details that helped bring MySpace into existence. Yet, it's in those extensive details that the print reader may get bogged down. Thus, Garcia's performance can give listeners an edge in getting through the less-compelling material. Also, given that MySpace was created by a younger, hip generation of 20- and 30-year olds, Garcia's vibrant voice adds that bit of youth and vigor. L.E. (c) AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine
