PreS-Gr 2-This audio edition features five of Pete the Cat's easy readers. Each title features a few sound effects. In Too Cool for School, Pete follows everyone's advice by putting on their favorite pieces of clothing. Play Ball! shows that even if Pete doesn't hit the ball, he isn't sad, because he tried his best and showed good sportsmanship, a lesson that benefits children of all ages. Pete at the Beach and Pete's Big Lunch teach about facing fear and sharing, respectively. A Pet for Pete may disappoint listeners, as the book is really about Pete trying to please everyone by painting a picture of his pet rather than a story about Pete taking care of a pet. Narrators Teddy Walsh and Lewis Grosso bring great enthusiasm to their reading, but listeners will enjoy these tales much more with the books in front of them.-Elizabeth Elsbree, Krug Elementary School, Aurora, IL
