This final installment of the Twin Willows Trilogy finds the battle between the Benandanti and the Malandanti at a head. The star-crossed relationship between Alessia, a loyal Benandante and Jonah, a grudging Malandante seems impossible. Their only hope is for Jonah to somehow be given the essence of a Benandante, but that will require the ultimate sacrifice from one of the members of Alessia's Clan. As humans, the members of both clans struggle with school, family, friendships, and jealous rivalries. But each realizes his or her greater purpose in answering the Call. Leaving their human bodies behind, each becomes a powerful animal. Alessia becomes the Falcon, while Jonah becomes the Panther. Other Clan members assume the forms of a Stag, an Eagle, and more. Maggi's strength lies in her ability to blend fantastic magic with ordinary life. Boy problems, overprotective parents, and sibling rivalry exist side by side with Clan wars and magical abilities. Missteps such as a failed love triangle and a wandering plot are not enough to destroy the magic. Fans of the series will cheer as Alessia embraces her power to fight for those she loves.
