Bakery owner Cass Wilkes has an empty house and a hole in her roof; Stefanie Stahl has a husband who starts and doesn't finish projects; and food blogger and photographer Griffin James needs her house spruced up so she can sell it. What they all need is a handyman, so when widower and George Clooney look-alike Grant Masters, owner of Honey Do, puts his services up for auction at the annual Raise the Roof fundraiser, the three friends agree to pool their resources and end up winning the bid--and more. Amid repairs, romance blossoms, with sometimes unexpected but eventually satisfying results. VERDICT With her typical flair, Roberts has penned a down-to-earth, grin-inducing, and sensitive tale that is more women's fiction than romance, but it will appeal to fans of small-town series. Roberts (Home on Apple Blossom Road) lives in the Pacific Northwest.
