My thoughts: This was my first foray into high fantasy and I will most definitely coming back to this genre. Sabriel was a mind-blowing read. Garth Nix is capable of creating a whole world with intricate rules and complex features and manages to pull it off. HOW? I love this universe. It’s just awesome. Charter Marks and Bells and the Dead—I want more! I will definitely be picking up the sequels. It’s just amazing how dense the world is. Death is the most interesting part in my opinion. Death is another dimension in this book; you can walk through the waters of Death and there are precincts of Death. It all just fascinates me. Sabriel had great action, detail and suspense. I would definitely recommend picking this book up!
