Debbie, the calm in the midst of the Beiler storm, is baptized into the faith, while Lois is in the English world coincidentally living with Debbie's parents and being courted by a non-Amish man. Despite Debbie's baptism, Alvin is not sure if he can ever stop thinking of her as an Englisha. When he chooses another woman over her, Debbie is devastated and begins to doubt whether she really belongs in the Amish world. Just as Debbie gives up hope, God answers her prayers with an unexpected suitor. VERDICT Amish educator Eicher has created such appealing and familiar characters that series fans will be delighted by this touching and heartwarming final visit. His stories ring true, authentically capturing the nuances of Amish life. Recommended for lovers of the genre, simple romances, and cozy stories of small-town life.
