Murder at Pearl Harbor

Gwen Williams of the Office of Naval Intelligence in San Francisco and her Hawaiian counterpart, Aki Kawa, simultaneously intercept Japanese communications detailing plans for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Dismissed by her supervisors, Gwen decides to investigate on her own. She contacts Washington reporter Sean Diamond and, soon afterward, is horrified to discover that Aki has been killed. Richard Ferrone's gravelly conspiratorial presentation is perfect for the gritty atmosphere of this time in history, but his accents and characterization attempts are inconsistent, a major problem in a story brimming with characters and subplots.
