Using soft voices for the four Darlyn sisters and a gravelly timbre for their ailing father, Aimee Lilly brings to life this charming romance, set in the Dakota Territories in 1889. When the resourceful sisters meet Greyson Wilder and his friend, Miles, their lives become tangled as they carry out a plan to harvest buffalo bones. The sisters need money to pay off the mortgage on the Darlyn home, which they're dangerously close to losing to a banker with designs on the property. Miles's Irish brogue contrasts with Greyson's Chicago accent as the two bone pickers meet their matches in the high-energy sisters.
