The Lie

Journalist Kate Dinneson is tricked into killing ex-CIA agent Paul Walters's parents. At tale's end she is carrying his child. To this unlikely scenario are added an international conference to end genocide, terrorist bombings and blackmail, and the attempted assassination of the U.S. president. Depth of character has been sacrificed to action here, so what humanity is breathed into the characters by Patrick Cullens is a plus. He reads at an unhurried pace with a warm voice that inspires more trust than the people he's describing. The wounded president is sympathetically portrayed, but what accent is that?
