Alden (Run from Fear) captivates readers from the first page as lovers reunite 14 years after tragedy destroyed their first try at romance. Kate Beckett’s younger brother, Michael, was abducted and murdered when she was only 16; she was supposed to be watching him but had snuck out to meet with her boyfriend, Tommy Ibarra. Kate’s father, a powerful senator, ended Tommy’s college career in revenge, and Tommy never forgave Kate for abandoning him in a vain effort to please her father. Now 30, Kate works for a foundation that helps find missing children. She returns to the Idaho town where Michael was abducted to help search for a missing girl, Tricia Fuller, and is unprepared to encounter Tommy, who’s now a security expert. As they help local law enforcement locate Tricia, they slowly face their tragic past together. The suspense is evenly matched with romance as Kate and Tommy link the present-day abduction with those of the past. Explicitly sensuous love scenes and expert pacing will keep readers riveted.
