Nutrition coach Adler focuses on relatively simple and quick recipes using "whole food" ingredients, focusing on veggies, grains, and beans. However, there are also quite a few recipes with meat, primarily fish or chicken, as well as desserts and drinks. Besides the recipes themselves, the book includes a substantial introduction with suggestions on how to cook more frequently, along with healthy lifestyle tips and rituals. Written in a conversational and personal style, the text can be cutesy, and there is a tendency toward trendy ingredients, such as turmeric, matcha, and broccoli "rice." The recipes themselves, though, are simple and straightforward, and most are accompanied by full-page photos. There is a complete index at the end, along with a few handy conversion charts.
