The title of this three-volume set is a misnomer. In this 36-lecture edition, Professor James H. Hall introduces the listener to an examination and evaluation of, not all religions or the concept of religion, but of what he calls "ethical monotheism," that is, the related faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is amiable, humorous, clear, and interesting, and, thankfully, never pedantic. It's worth noting that the producers have taken important, if nearly invisible, post-production steps to make the lectures as listenable as possible. Y.R. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine
