In a lively sequel to her well-received "Good Girls Do", Linz pairs rebellious, flamboyant Skye Wright (the hippie-raised, wild-child sister from the previous story) with gorgeous, by-the-book Sheriff Nathan Thornton and lets the old saying that opposites attract prove itself. This funny romp gets off to a show-stopping start when Nate arrests Skye for speeding and the entire town turns out in protest. From there, the sparks and the laughter continue to fly in this upbeat, fast-paced story as a free-spirited, outspoken heroine and an ex-Marine hero unsuccessfully fight their attraction to each other and ultimately learn that there is more to each other, and themselves, than they had first thought. For all its zingy humor, this effervescent story has a serious side. Linz lives in Naperville, IL.

Skye Wright creates excitement wherever she goes, whether teaching yoga to the high-school football team or instructing senior citizens on the finer points of belly dancing. When she is hauled off to jail by the stern but hunky cop Nathan Thornton, a man with a secret, there is an uproar among the fine citizens of Rock Creek. Life then improves radically for Skye when the lottery ticket she bought as a thank-you gift turns out to be a million-dollar winner. Owen, her quiet, wealthy friend, insists that she take the ticket back, a move not appreciated by his nephew and sole heir, while Skye, in her usual offbeat fashion, decides to buy, restore, and reopen the dilapidated Tivoli theater. Linz, known for her fast-paced, snappy romantic comedies, once again sparkles in this heartwarming, funny tale. And her secondary characters, particularly the generous Owen, Skye's New Age mother, and a kitten named Gravity, as well as Skye's overprotective daughter, Toni, who bites anyone she perceives as a threat to her mother, make an already excellent story exceptional.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2006, American Library Association.)
