The Sounds of Rescue, the Signs of Hope

The beloved Texan author of this 1970 novel makes listeners smile at his Robinson Crusoe tale of a WWII pilot downed on a deserted Pacific island. Only a writer with these sensibilities could draw out so many facets of what it means to be human in such a stark place.
