In his latest book, Bancroft (Why Does He Do That?; Should I Stay or Should I Go?) presents daily readings to help women achieve clarity, strength, and faith in themselves. He not only explains the methodology of the controlling partner but raises issues inherent in destructive relationships and advocates taking total responsibility for one's actions. Bancroft's meditations focus on gaining lucidity, healing, guiding children, and staying connected. The book's overriding message to readers is that they deserve to be seen and treasured for who they are. VERDICT Excellent in terms of readability and applicability.
