Tori Patterson has returned to the Texas Panhandle to work as a physical therapist after the untimely death of her husband, Willy. She is surprised when one of her patients is Delon Sanchez, a former rodeo rider to whom she lost her heart years ago. Their professional interactions are colored by sizzling attraction and the pain of what might have been. As Tori tries to move on with her life and start anew after her husband’s tragic death, she learns how to become a better rodeo roper, and she and Delon embark on a friendship. But Tori, a politician’s daughter, wants to stay out of the limelight, and Delon isn’t sure she’d be willing to take a chance on a relationship with him. The complexity of their relationship is realistic and believable. Dell expertly combines romance with authentic details of rodeo riding in this page-turning novel.
