Spunky ex-nun Giulia Falcone-Driscoll is the star of this series launch, although she appeared in the author's "Falcone & Driscoll Investigation" series (Forces of Habit; Back in the Habit; Veiled Threat). In previous titles, Frank Driscoll owned Driscoll Investigations, and Giulia was his assistant fresh out of the convent. Now Frank and Giulia are married, Frank is working for the local police department, and Giulia has taken over at the agency. Her latest case involves the Silk Tie Killer, dubbed that because the victim was strangled with the attacker's tie. Roger Fitch is the main suspect, and his lawyer needs Giulia to search for other potential suspects before the trial begins in two weeks. Giulia encounters trouble as she gets too close to the truth, but they'll regret underestimating this docile-looking PI. VERDICT If reading the protagonist's line, "Fear the power of the highlighters," as she creates a "clue collage" and then uses her "Google-fu" to research for an investigation make you laugh out loud, then you'll enjoy this mystery as much as this reviewer did. While Giulia's Catholic faith is occasionally mentioned, this title belongs more with the cozy mysteries than in CF.
