Caroline is going to marry, and her little brother Jody, 11 years old, begs her to take him to their older brother, who is in Scotland. They leave a springtime London to find a wintry Scotland and a frosty Scot. Hannah Gordon is a joy to listen to, a consummate actress, but the story blithers along, drowning in descriptive passages. When dialogue appears, Gordon springs forth in excellence. Happily, there's an abridged version of this. But what a shame to miss this reader. S.B.S. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
