Drs. Weil and Ross are a good team as they present this compact lesson on healthy eating. Weil sounds stiff and professorial at first but then loosens up and joins his friendly coauthor in sounding relaxed and spontaneous. A holistic medicine expert, Weil focuses on how to choose appealing foods that prevent illness and are not processed or manufactured. Both authors say a sustainable diet is one we enjoy, not one that makes us feel deprived. Dr. Ross, an eating disorder expert, explains how addictive eating can be caused by stress, unmet emotional needs, inattention to our body's signals, and not having a big enough "hook," or life purpose, to motivate long-term change. The production is a refreshing, energizing overview on how and why to change something as hardwired as unhealthy eating habits. T.W. (c) AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine
