Jon Gauger's upbeat performance is a good vehicle for the author's optimistic message that feeling rich is more about your habits, more about what's in your heart, than your bank account. The positive energy in his narration goes right to the edge of excess, but he's a clear and effective interpreter whose performance is always believable. Stanley, an influential Christian communicator and pastor, offers a thoughtful lesson on how feeling financially secure is relative to the people we compare ourselves to and can be nurtured through certain practices. With memorable examples drawn from history and scripture, he shows how generosity with others and managing the money we have wisely can help us keep a good perspective on our appetites, our humanity, and our priorities.
