Dinner with Friends

Listeners might think of this as "Friends" for the divorced set. Margulies covers the many complications of divorce, not for the couple that once was, but for their friends. The plot covers all the issues of the ultimate breakup: taking sides, or not; figuring out how to make time for both people individually; and letting them move on romantically. When Beth and Tom announce their impending divorce to friends Gabe and Karen, life as the two friends know it is turned upside down. With versatile voices, the cast portrays a myriad of believable emotions, shifting from sarcasm to humor to hurt in a fast and furious style that highlights the ephemeral nature of feelings and relationships.
