Salter (A Credible Witness), a teaching minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church and an associate professor at Seattle Pacific University, believes there is a path forward for racial fairness in the world. In this book, she has created a roadmap to help communities of faith find harmony in a hurting world. Reconciliation, for Salter, can only come with a spiritual, social, and systematic adjustment of attitudes. “If we are to move out beyond the safe and familiar surroundings of our own ethnic groups in order that the church might better reflect the image of God by including people from every tribe and nation, we need the Spirit of God to empower us,” she writes. McNeil was a consultant for many years to churches and industry primarily concerned with creating ways to combat racial injustice and promote healthy communities. After each chapter are exercises for readers to complete that help to create a mind-set of equality and fairness. This book might work well in communities of faith experiencing some kind of strife and seeking a path forward.
