On a mission to see that something is done about a recent rash of blood thefts, journalist Keira Turner has no problem confronting police detective Alex Sanchez and demanding action--even though she knows he's a vampire. It's only when Alex learns that she's the granddaughter of a notorious vampire hunter and kidnaps her to keep her out of danger that her real problems begin. Familiar characters join in the fun and the mayhem as vamp rivalries threaten and the action explodes in this lively romp that pleasantly combines Chicago history and paranormal lore. VERDICT A reporter with a high-risk heritage and too much curiosity and a vampire cop who will wager everything to keep her safe fight their unexpected but preordained attraction as they search for answers and bring down a power-hungry villain. Another entertaining and sexy foray into Chicago's quirky, enigmatic Vamptown. Devon (Love Your Entity), who has also written as Cathie Linz, died earlier this year.
