The fifth title in the new "Hundreds of Heads Survival Guide™ " series compiles hundreds of essential moving tips, real-life stories, and quotes by movers across the United States and Canada. Editors Allen, a former senior writer for CNN.com, and Regelman, a one-time foreign correspondent for "Variety", address several facets of the relocation process, including throwing things out, hiring professionals, driving moving trucks, handling pets, and settling into the new place. Unfortunately, there is some duplication of content; the graphics, though cute, do not enhance the text; and the book lacks pertinent information (e.g., illustrations exhibiting how to load trucks, details on how to pack specific items and what not to pack, how to move a grand piano, and how to shrink-wrap furniture). In all likelihood, readers will be better served by John Marc's more organized and condensed "Packing and Moving Tips That Could Save You a Fortune". It is worth noting that Marc has over 20 years' experience in the professional moving industry with name brand carriers. An optional purchase. -Shannon Williams, Montgomery Cty. Memorial Lib.
