First came the Montagues and the Capulets, followed by the Hatfields and the McCoys. And then there are the Cramers and the Mosiers. Addie Cramer's parents have long been in a feud with the Mosiers. Addie is a respectful young woman who always does as her parents and church wish, so she agrees to marry the man her parents choose for her, Phillip Eicher. She is put to the test, however, when she falls in love with the Mosiers's son, Jonathan. Against the wishes of both of their parents, Addie and Jonathan continue to see each other, until one of Addie's siblings hurts a Mosier and Jonathan intervenes. For his part, Jonathan is banished from Lancaster's Amish community, and Addie, determined to end the feud, decides to uncover the reason for long-held grudges.
