Olivia seems to have it all, but underneath, she's miserable. Hoping to avoid some tough decisions about work and her upcoming wedding, she takes a leave of absence from her job and travels to Tillman, GA, on a quest to learn about her late mother Janie's past--and perhaps gain some answers. There she meets Elliot, the town newspaper owner and sole reporter. Together they unravel the mysteries surrounding her mother's strange request to have her ashes spread in Tillman, a town Olivia didn't even know held family ties until the reading of the will. With the help of her 14-year-old niece, Logan, and some of the townspeople, Olivia and Elliot uncover Janie's story of love, loss, and tragedy. Along the way Olivia learns much about herself and what it really means to fall in love. VERDICT Though the book gets off to a slow start, Dingman's love of architecture, dry wit, and storytelling shines through as the novel progresses. She will be an author to watch as her writing matures. Recommend to fans of Nicholas Sparks.--Jane Blue, Prince William Cty. Lib. Syst., VA
