Joyner is known as the hardest-working man in radio primarily for his commute between stations in Chicago and Dallas. Now he is syndicated and reaching eight million listeners in 115 markets. He has also created a foundation to support historically black colleges and universities. The themes of hard work and education are elemental to this part autobiography, part self-help book. The author speaks about the importance of the African American community he grew up in and how living there in combination with the experience of attending a historically black college (Tuskegee Institute) helped make him a strong African American man, ready to face the world. Joyner pokes fun at his failures and at himself, noting that he graduated with barely a -C - average but has created successful business ventures.
