In this creative audiobook concept, the editor of SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN presents four previously published articles on brain power and creativity. They examine right-brained versus left-brained thinking and the relationship between intelligence and creativity, among other topics. To add to the fascinating mix, she conducts a roundtable discussion with creativity experts at the end of the audiobook. Narrators William Dufris and Helen Litchfield alternate the narration, providing clear transitions between each topic. The content is intriguing, and the presentation is excellent. Dufris and Litchfield sound like practiced lecturers as they use intonation to vary their delivery. A solid narration and inspiring ideas make this a quick listen. D.L.M. "Scientific American" executive editor DiChristina gathers together in this original audiobook collection four articles published in that magazine between 2004 and 2006 on the subject of creativity. Narrators William Dufris ("The Futurist") and Helen Litchfield's ("The Intellectual Devotional: American History") competent, smoothly paced reading is followed by a stimulating round table discussion among writer Julia Cameron and two leading researchers in the field. The readers are all easily identifiable, though their discussion does little to connect the four articles. Suggestions for further reading, perhaps presented as liner notes, would have been helpful. A good choice for popular science collections in public libraries; also of possible interest to YA readers.Nann Blaine Hilyard, Zion-Benton P.L., IL
