These books address what to do once you've lured the girl or guy into bed, obtained that commitment, and gotten married. Doocy (coanchor, "Fox & Friends") takes a comical tack to discuss the inevitable clashes and misunderstandings that occur as couples buy homes, spend holidays with each other's families, and rear children together. Doocy's wife (Mrs. Happy) adds tidbits on topics like dealing with annoying neighbors and naming children after relatives. This will entertain those who have already gone through the newlywed experience; an optional purchase.
In "The Nest", Roney (cofounder, the Knot Inc.; editor in chief, "The Nest") combines expert advice, quizzes, and checklists to produce a down-to-earth look at marriage today. The chapters on money deal with issues like setting up separate bank accounts and choosing an insurance company; coverage of the home tackles everything from divvying up chores to decorating. Roney ties her advice about good communication to personality type. Worksheets on budgets, dates to remember, and other chores help newlyweds prepare for life ahead. One of the best books on the subjectcomplete with appealing graphics and layoutthis is highly recommended for all libraries.
