The Phantom Major

British Major David Sterling's daring raids of sabotage against German and Italian airplanes and ships during WWII in Africa made him the father of special forces warfare. His explosives volunteers could destroy more planes than regular squadrons of British flying aces. Sometimes Irish and sometimes Scots, reader Robert Whitfield's multiple British accents, from aristocratic speech to street slang, add color and realism to the suspenseful stories of daring moonlight attacks. This military story is ideally suited to audio: Maps aren't necessary to follow its excitement, and the reader adds a pleasing dimension with his skill at accents, reminding us of whom the story is about.
