In these 12 lectures Professor Daniel N. Robinson systematically reviews the path traveled by the American colonies in their transition to independence. Robinson clearly explains the philosophical roots of the American Revolution, explaining the Founding Fathers' debts to various philosophical schools, and to history. Robinson balances this with clear descriptions of the economic forces driving independence. All of this is well done, but the lectures really come to life in the personal touches. Robinson's quiet voice carries a fervent dedication to these great men, and he shares numerous asides that bring them to life as individuals.
