This small board book, perfectly sized for the tiny hands of readers just learning to hold a book and flip pages, presents puppies, kittens, ducklings, and more. The pages are textured with a sparkly shimmer that will help little ones grip the pages as they work their ways through the book. Each turn of the page reveals a digitally collaged photograph of a baby animal in an illustrated setting on the right and large-print text on the left. This provides the animal's signature sound, its name (often with an adjective), and a few words to describe its actions: "Quack, quack, Yellow Duckling. Waddle, waddle in the sun." The book is sturdily bound and charmingly colored, ideal for putting in the hands of little ones looking for something to flip through while strapped in their car seats or sitting in shopping carts.
