Gr 4-7-A scientific approach to Earth's landscape. Throughout the series, a multitude of eye-catching photographs, graphs, charts, and diagrams effectively illustrate key concepts. Each title opens with its subject clearly defined and follows with case studies. Earth's Resources, for example, explains the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources and, alongside an abundance of additional information, provides a more in-depth look at the mining of aluminum-rich bauxite ore, rain forest deforestation, genetically modified crops, North Sea fishing, and eco-cities. Each book does a great job pulling together and synthesizing information. Also included is a test section to review the knowledge gained. VERDICT Fact-filled and perfect for visual learners.
