Though the information in each title is quite basic, the presentation excels; archival photos and paintings combined with stock art give the series a fun, pop art vibe. Thought-provoking questions are interspersed throughout to get kids engaged, and an activities section in the back matter inspires readers to get involved and take action. VERDICT Introductory information and a smart visual layout make this a solid purchase for the very young.
